INSURANCE CLAIM DOCUMENTATION

DOCUMENT THE DAMAGE.
UNDERSTAND THE SCOPE.
YOU CONTROL THE CLAIM.

After storm damage, clear documentation matters. Black Ridge Roofing can inspect your roof, document visible conditions, prepare a contractor estimate, and answer questions about that estimate. You decide whether to file a claim, communicate with your insurer, and remain in control of the process.

OUR ROLE
ROOFING CONTRACTOR.
NOT A PUBLIC ADJUSTER.

We document roof conditions and prepare roofing estimates. We do not interpret policy coverage, negotiate claim settlements, or act as your insurance representative.

CLEAR ROLES. BETTER DOCUMENTATION.

FAQS

INSURANCE CLAIM DOCUMENTATION FAQ

If you suspect storm damage, documenting the condition of the roof can help you understand what happened and what roofing work may be needed. If it is safe to do so, preserve photographs of visible damage before temporary repairs or cleanup. Coverage still depends on your policy, the cause of loss, and your insurer’s evaluation.

There is no single answer that applies to every policyholder. Premiums can be affected by multiple factors, including claims history, location, insurer pricing, and approved rate changes. Your insurance agent or carrier can explain how a claim may affect your specific policy.

Ask your carrier for its written coverage and scope decision and compare it with the roofing estimate. Black Ridge can explain our estimate and answer questions about the roofing work. We do not negotiate coverage or claim settlements. If you dispute an insurer’s decision, you may also contact the Maryland Insurance Administration or consult a licensed public adjuster.

Timing varies based on the carrier, severity of damage, documentation requested, inspection scheduling, and whether additional review is needed. We do not promise a claim timeline. Our role is to provide roofing documentation promptly and be available for questions about our estimate.

Your deductible is the portion of a covered loss you are responsible for under your policy. A roofing contractor should not promise to waive, absorb, rebate, or pay your deductible. Review the deductible shown in your policy or claim documents and ask your carrier if you have questions.

No. Black Ridge Roofing is a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster. We can inspect the roof, document visible conditions, prepare an estimate, discuss that estimate with you, and answer insurer questions about the estimate. Negotiating or advocating for a policyholder’s claim is the role of a licensed public adjuster.
